Commercial Builders,
Inc.
(CBI) founded in 1991 by
Brian and Cyndi Mead. CBI
specializes in commercial structural and lightgauge framing,
lightgauge trusses, drywall, insulation as well as Exterior
Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS).
The company’s success is a direct result of our
ability to provide personal, hands-on service to our clients, no
matter what size job. We staff each of our projects with what we
feel are the best field superintendents and skilled mechanics in our
industry.
Owner Brian Mead brings over twenty five years of
commercial building experience to CBI and handles all of the
estimating, sales, project management and purchasing. Before
founding CBI, Brian was the South Florida General Superintendent of
a Houston-based drywall contractor. From 1987 to 1991, he built such
projects as the Crocker Center Phase II, 
Mission Bay Shopping
Center, Glades Crossing and Radisson Hotel, all in Boca Raton. Brian
also built the Fort Lauderdale Jet Center and Courtyard Marriott in
Fort Lauderdale.
Co-owner Cyndi Mead is the office manager and is
responsible for all of the payables and payroll duties. She also works
with our CPA in preparing quarterly and year-end reports.
Project Manager/Senior Estimator Ted Larson has
worked in the commercial building sector for over twenty years
and has been with CBI since its inception.
Project Manager/Senior Estimator Doug Austin also
has over twenty years experience in the commercial building industry.
Doug specializes in exterior metal trusses,
exterior lightgauge framing and EIFS systems. He joined CBI in
1994 and is another example of our highly skilled field personnel.
Doug’s organization skills and superior ability to manage large
crews have contributed greatly to CBI’s success in execution.
Superintendent Freddy Ramos has been with Commerical
Builders, Inc. since 1995. Freddy is very detailed oriented and
has completed such projects as Carter Square Shopping Center,
University Credit Union, Publix Addison and Publix Jupiter. Freddy
started with us as a apprentice and through his hard work and
motivation to grow is now one of our top superintendents.
Superintendent Mark Horsch has been with Commercial Buiders, Inc. for three years. Mark brings an extensive background in masrony construction to CBI which is valuable asset in coordinating our work with other trades.
To date Commercial Builders, Inc. is the only contractor in the S.E. Florida region to hold the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industries - International
(AWCI) EIFSMART Contractor
Certification. EIFSMART is a distinct industry certification given to contractors who have shown a committment to and completed the required education regarding EIFS installations, as well as passing an objective test. They must also maintain a mix of EIFS certified employees. The
EIFSMART Contractor Certification
is renewed annually if AWCI minimum requirements are met and maintained.
